While in
New York City this past week, my sister, sister-in-law, nephew and I made some
apple pie. Griffin, who is two years old loves to help bake. We called him our “dumper”
as he dumped all of the ingredients into our pie filling.
Ingredients
Pillsbury
pie crust
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups chopped apples
1 cup sour cream
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups chopped apples
Pie
topping
1/3 cup
flour
1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat
the oven to 375. Put your pie crust in your pie pan. Mix your pie ingredients
in mixing bowl, making sure to add in the chopped apples last. Pour this
filling into pan.
For the topping, mix flour, oats,
sugar, and salt in bowl. Pour in melted butter and vanilla and stir to combine.
Sprinkle mixture over the top of the pie.
Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes.
